One of the things our family loves is spending time near water. Last weekend, we ventured West to the beautiful Shuswap for some fun in the sun. We were actually there for a family reunion, but we fit in lots of vacation fun, too.

The destination was Anglemont, B.C. It is a bit out of the way on the North side of the lake. You drive West on Trans Canada past Sorrento to the Squilax Bridge, and then East to Scotch Creek, Celista, Magna Bay and Anglemont. Shortly after that the road turns to gravel and the further you go, the fewer people you will find. What makes it particularly fun is that almost everyone who is there is there for water sports and sun soaking. It is not on the way to anywhere, so it is relaxed and friendly.

Still in a bit of a fog, but confident we are settling into this adventure, and sure things will get a bit easier each day. Considering we have had very little sleep in the last 48 hours, we are faring surprisingly well. Today's revelations?

Okay, this is a totally self serving post. But I think maybe some of you KinderJet-setters may be interested. We have friends who live far away from us, in a place that is jam packed with family travel opportunities. We have traveled to see them several times, and will do so many more, I'm sure. We love it there! But we would like to convince them to come visit us, too. Hard to do when they live in a virtual family travel paradise. So begins my attempt to point out all that we have to offer families here in Western Canada.

I wrote these posts 2 years ago, when I took our then 1 year old up to the Northwest Territories for New Years. It was quite a trip! (There is a video at the end.)
